There is a dream at the heart of the work of The Theatre Company, a dream of sharing human stories that delight and enrich our lives. And as we exist and thrive in Africa, that dream is based on an African reality. We tell African stories, and we tell them using traditional ideas to reflect on contemporary issues.
Our dream is to train confident, competent, creative Kenyan performers who will be enabled to perform these stories to an expanding series of audiences and to see those audience members’ lives enriched after the event.
The logo represents an androgynous performer calling the people together to share a performance. The performer is using a traditional horn like a Siwa from Lamu, or the side-blown amagwara and amakondere horns from Uganda and Rwanda. We love the vibrant reds, golds and oranges of our region, and use them as often as possible!
